Ultimate Guide to Universal Horror Unleashed Las Vegas: Year-Round Horror Thrills & Haunted Houses Experience

Brian Kirkwood, September 22, 2025September 30, 2025

Universal Horror Unleashed Las Vegas is the world’s first permanent, year-round Universal horror attraction. Located in Area 15 entertainment district, this standalone venue features four haunted houses based on iconic horror properties, live entertainment, and themed food and drinks. This guide covers what to expect, ticket information, and tips for your visit.

What is Universal Horror Unleashed Las Vegas?

Universal Horror Unleashed opened in August 2025 as Universal’s first permanent horror attraction. Unlike the seasonal Halloween Horror Nights events at Universal theme parks, this Las Vegas location operates year-round with a dedicated lineup of haunted houses and live entertainment.

The attraction is housed within Area 15, Las Vegas’s immersive entertainment complex, offering visitors a horror experience independent of Universal’s theme parks.

The Four Haunted Houses

The unique thing about the houses is that the team does their best to send groups of people in 45 second apart. This allows for more scares, and the scare actors play out scenes in front of you, with most of the houses having scenes where you stop to watch the story unfold. We hope that they continue this. Understand that on days with higher attendance the time gap between parties might be decreased.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

This house follows the storyline from both the original film and recent video game adaptation. Scenes are longer and more detailed than typical haunted houses, featuring realistic sets and physical environments. Notable elements include extended sequences with the Grandpa character and accurate recreations of key locations from the source material.

Scarecrow: The Reaping

A cinematic haunted house experience featuring atmospheric effects including a dust storm sequence and a corn maze finale. The house runs longer than standard haunted attractions and maintains consistent tension throughout multiple scenes.

The Exorcist: Believer

Based on the 2023 film, this possession-themed house shares similarities with the version at Universal Orlando but removes water effects from the experience. Key scenes are extended to build atmosphere and suspense.

Universal Monsters

A walkthrough featuring classic Universal monsters including Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula, and Quasimodo. The house draws from horror cinema history with sets and scares referencing multiple classic films from the Universal Monsters library.

Live Entertainment

Live performers interact with guests throughout the venue, including character actors in full makeup and costume. Stage shows run at scheduled intervals and feature horror-themed performances. The venue maintains atmospheric lighting, sound design, and environmental effects beyond the haunted houses themselves.

Universal Horror Unleashed Merchandise

The gift shop, located near the exit, offers exclusive items including:

  • Jack the Clown collection
  • Apparel (hoodies, spirit jerseys, t-shirts) featuring Las Vegas-specific designs
  • Collectibles (candles, coasters, keychains, magnets, bottle openers)

Specialty t-shirts are priced around $30. Merchandise is exclusive to this location and not available at Universal theme parks.

Food and Drinks

The venue serves horror-themed cocktails and food items. Guests can purchase drinks and snacks between haunted houses to extend their visit.

The Crows Nest
Death by Chocolate
Phantom’s Espresso Martini (mocktail)
